To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will estimate the net cost to the Exchequer of exempting private medical insurance, including that provided by employers for their employees, from insurance premium tax, taking into account changes to corporation tax and income tax liability. [124653]

Customs and Excise estimate that the net cost to the Exchequer of exempting private medical insurance from insurance premium tax would be around £140 million in 2001–02.
