§ Mrs. LiddellIn accordance with the internationally agreed format for publishing such information, my Department publishes each year figures for the total amount of plutonium held in the UK in unirradiated separated form as well as the total amount of plutonium estimated to be contained in spent civil reactor fuel. The figures include details of the total amount of plutonium held in the UK in unirradiated separated form belonging to foreign bodies. This total is not further broken down into separate figures for individual countries.
Details about amounts of plutonium held at Sellafield on behalf of particular customers and about the timing and arrangements for returning the plutonium to the country of origin are commercial and operational matters for 121W BNFL and its customers. I understand from BNFL, however, that there is no longer any Canadian owned plutonium in any form held at Sellafield.
