HC Deb 05 June 2000 vol 351 c82W
Mr. Goggins

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of(a) the amount and (b) the proportion of heroin coming to the UK which originates in (i) Colombia, (ii) Burma, (iii) Afghanistan, (iv) Pakistan and (v) other major supplier countries. [124526]

Dawn Primarolo

There are currently no generally accepted estimates of the scale of heroin supply. HM Customs and Excise, along with other drugs enforcement agencies, are contributing to a comprehensive research programme to improve our understanding of the supply of drugs to the UK and Europe.
