§ Ms Estelle MorrisIn addition to SSA and direct grant increases, funding for schools through the Standards Fund and specific grants, including class size grant, and for schools capital will be increased as a result of the Spending Review. Full details of the extra resources we are making available to schools for these aspects will be announced in due course. This is part of an increase in education spending in the UK of nearly £12 billion from 2000–01 to 2003–04. The Year 2000 Spending Review means a real terms increase of some £370 per pupil over the three years bringing the total to almost £700 per pupil in real terms between 1997–98 and 2003–04.
