§ 23. Mr. SwayneTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what estimate he has made of the productive capacity of the dairy industry over the next year. [131286]
§ Ms QuinThe UK's milk production capacity is constrained by the milk quota system. The UK's current allocation of quota is 14.2 billion litres. Although current milk production is running at a little below the seasonal 791W profile, at this stage of the year there is no reason to believe that the UK production will not be close to its quota allocation, as has been the case in previous years.
