Mr. Caplin

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport which Government departments are represented on the Tourism and Hospitality Contact Group; and what arrangements he is putting in place to publicise it. [133356]

Mr. Chris Smith

The Tourism and Hospitality Contact Group, set up by the Government to ensure close working between Departments on policies affecting tourism, includes representatives from the following Departments:

  • Department for Culture, Media and Sport
  • Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food
  • Cabinet Office (Regulatory Impact Unit)
  • HM Customs and Excise
  • Department for Education and Employment
  • Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions
  • Foreign and Commonwealth Office
  • Home Office
  • Small Business Service
  • Department of Trade and Industry
  • HM Treasury
  • Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (Northern Ireland
  • Scottish Executive
  • National Assembly for Wales.

Representatives from the English Tourism Council and British Tourist Authority also attend the Group's meetings.
