§ Ms Beverley HughesThis Government are committed to maximising the re-use of previously-developed land within urban areas, bringing empty homes back into use and converting existing buildings, in preference to the development of greenfield sites. The target for England is that, by 2008, 60 per cent. of additional housing should be provided on previously-developed land and through conversions of existing buildings.
