To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many of the(a) RAF, (b) Royal Naval, (c) Army and (d) other military bases in the United Kingdom where US personnel outnumber UK personnel have been visited by Ministers from his Department since 1 May 1997; and what percentage this represents of the total number of each such base in the United Kingdom. Of the bases, all RAF, in the UK where US personnel outnumber UK personnel, two have been visited by Ministers from this Department since 1 May 1997. These are RAF Fairford and RAF Menwith Hill. This represents 25 per cent. of the total number of such bases.
