§ Mr. IngramDuring the relevant period there were two items of correspondence. The first was a letter of 25 May 1998 in which the Lord Chancellor set out proposals for having the responsibility for the appointments of Queen's Counsel in his office. The second was a response of 30 May from the then Secretary of State in which she agreed to the Lord Chancellor's proposals. However, both letters contained personal opinions on particular policy issues and copies have not been placed in the Library, in accordance with Part II, Section 2 of the Code of Practice on Access to Government Information.
