§ Mr. EnnisTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence what key targets have been set for the Army Training and Recruitment Agency for the financial year 2000–01. [125578]
§ Mr. Spellar[pursuant to his reply, 14 July 2000, Official Report, c. 643–44W]: The Key Targets set out for the Army Training and Recruiting Agency were for the previous financial year 1999–2000 and therefore incorrect.
The following Key Targets have been set for the financial year 2000–01:
- 1. To meet the Army's requirement for 560 trained mainstream officers available to take up their first appointment within a permissible variance of 2 per cent. The 1999–2000 performance was an output of 523,
- 2. To meet the Army's requirement for 10,623 soldiers available to take up their first appointment within a permissible variance of 5 per cent. The 1999–2000 performance was an output of 9,573.
- 3. Achieve a 98 per cent. first time pass rate for all officers made available to undergo career or professional development training. The 1999–2000 performance was a pass rate of 99 per cent.
- 4. Achieve a 96 per cent. first time rate for all soldiers made available to undergo career or professional development training. The 1999–2000 performance was a pass rate of 96.7 per cent.
- 5. To achieve an overall 3 per cent. improvement in the efficiency of ATRA operations.
