The Arts Council of England's paperThe Next Stage, published on 18 May with the Boyden Report, specifically addresses the wider theatre ecology beyond the English regional producing theatres, to include receiving houses, medium and small touring companies as well as the national companies. ACE will now build on this in the next phase of its review, currently under way.
