HL Deb 06 July 2000 vol 614 c151WA
Lord Berkeley

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Who pays for the additional police patrolling the Eurostar trains during the Euro 2000 football matches. [HL3005]

Lord Bassam of Brighton

Eurostar met the cost of British Transport Police involvement in the Euro 2000 policing operation. In addition to escorting all Eurostar trains to and from Brussels, British Transport Police involvement included the presence of liaison officers at the Waterloo, Lille and Brussels terminals and the police intelligence centres at Lille and Driebergen. No detailed costings are available.
