§ Mr. BoatengResponsibility for the choice of pathologist for a coroner's post-mortem lies in law with the coroner. In cases of child deaths, the Home Office has, for over 10 years, drawn to the attention of coroners the advantages of using pathologists with appropriate skills and training in paediatric pathology.
