§ Dawn PrimaroloThe latest estimates for the number of income tax payers in Shrewsbury and Atcham and in Shropshire are 47,000 and 204,000 respectively. The estimate for Shrewsbury and Atcham is uncertain because of the small survey sample size.
These estimates are for 1996–97 and are based on the Inland Revenue Survey of Personal Incomes.
