§ Mr. HainSudan acceded to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) on 24 May 1999. It has not yet submitted its declarations as required under the Convention to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). Until it does so the OPCW or States Parties is unable to advise or encourage the Sudan on implementation. The UK along with EU partners are seeking clarification of the Sudanese accession statement as submitted to the UN.
