§ Mr. WicksMy right hon. Friend has appointed the current chairman, Sir Michael Checkland, to serve for a further year until 30 September 2001. We are very grateful to Sir Michael for his contribution to the work of the council over the last three years and for his willingness to continue to serve as chairman.
