§ Mr. Bayley114,400 awards of the mobility component of Disability Living Allowance stopped in 1997–98, and 129,900 in 1998–99. These figures are equivalent to around 7 per cent. of recipients. Awards stop in various circumstances, for example when recipients die, go to live abroad permanently, or experience a significant improvement in their ability to get around.
