§ Dawn PrimaroloThe Working Families' Tax Credit (WFTC) will become payable to employees by their employer along with their wages or salary from April 2000. Couples applying for WFTC are able to choose which partner applies for and receives their tax credit. From April 2000, if they opt for a partner who is self-employed, or not working, to receive the tax credit, they will be paid direct by the Inland Revenue.
