§ Dr. MoonieOver the past two years, officials in my Department have had regular discussions with their counterparts at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in order to ensure that all opportunities to source British meat for the Armed Forces at competitive prices are explored. One outcome of these discussions has been that MOD secured access to stocks of British intervention beef, with the result that 100 per cent. of beef for the Armed Forces in the UK is currently of British origin.
