§ The Prime Minister[holding answer 7 February 2000]: I did not discuss this issue with Dr. Kharrazi during his recent visit, but the subject was covered by my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary. Co-operation between the United Kingdom and Iran to stem the flow of drugs from Afghanistan forms an important part of the developing UK/Iran relationship. We have provided 276W nearly £1.5 million over the past year for anti-drugs projects in Iran, and with our EU Partners will continue to support Iranian efforts to counter this mutual problem.
