§ Clare ShortWe have so far contributed £500,000 to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) appeal for the North Caucasus, and $1,450,000 (£893,000) to the UN Inter Agency Appeal for internally displaced people in the North Caucasus, split between the World Food Programme ($1,000,000), the United Nations Children's Fund ($250,000), the World Health Organisation ($100,000) and the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs ($100,000). The UK has also contributed through our share of the 2.2 million euro donated by the EU (Primarily to UNHCR (1 million euro) and ICRC (1 million euro)). We are monitoring the humanitarian situation closely.
