§ Mr. Chris SmithIn April this year, the International Amateur Athletics Association (IAAF) announced that the London bid for the 2005 World Athletics Championships had been successful. UK Athletics and the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority are working closely with Sport England and the London Borough of Enfield to develop the new National Athletics Stadium in Edmonton, North London, which will be the venue for the 2005 World Championships.
