§ Dr. ReidInformation from the Engineering and Marine Training Authority indicates that there are currently 134 Modem Apprentices training in the shipbuilding industry in Scotland compared with approximately 200 in 1990 and a similar number in 1980.
Responsibility for the development of training programmes in Scotland, including the Modern Apprenticeship scheme, is a matter for the Scottish Executive.
