HC Deb 18 April 2000 vol 348 c421W
Ms McCafferty

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what training is given to(a) police officers and (b) other law enforcement groups for the policing of the Prohibition of Female Circumcision Act 1985. [119187]

Mr. Charles Clarke

The training of police officers is ultimately the responsibility of individual chief constables who have discretion to provide training on any subject for which there is a local need.

We are not aware of any other law enforcement groups which might be involved in policing the Act.
