To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office how many times the Deputy to the United Kingdom Anti-Drugs Co-ordinator has met members and officials of the United States Government since 1 January 1999; on what date and where each meeting took place; and which members and officials of the United States Government attended each meeting. During the period 1 January 1999 to 31 March 2000, the Deputy UK Anti-Drugs Co-ordinator met General Barry McCaffrey, Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy, and his officials, during their visit to the United Kingdom in October 1999. In addition to meetings with General McCaffrey, he also sat in on several bilateral meetings between US and UK officials to discuss a wide range of drugs related issues, including Criminal justices intervention issues and drug treatment programmes.
