§ Mr. HainIn my address to the BWC Ad Hoc Group in Geneva on 23 March to mark the 25th anniversary of entry into force of the Convention, I stressed the urgent need for completion of work on the Protocol during 2000. The United Kingdom believes that this remains achievable and that a successful outcome would be a significant addition to international arms control regimes. We shall continue to work actively for this goal.
