§ Mr. Charles ClarkeOur White Paper, "The Government's Proposals for Regulation of the Private Security Industry in England and Wales", published last year, sets out plans to introduce statutory regulation of the industry. The proposals include plans to establish a Private Security Industry Authority to be responsible for maintaining and improving standards within the industry, and for licensing people employed in the industry. We intend to introduce legislation as soon as parliamentary time permits.
