§ Mr. BoatengPilot health needs assessment projects have started in 12 prisons. All prisons and local health authorities have been asked by March 2001 jointly to assess prisoners' health needs and to identify appropriate services to meet them and effective ways of delivery. Implementation of improvements through individual prison health plans is scheduled to begin from April 2001.
