Note: An extra allocation to the NHS of £134 million was announced by Secretary of State for Health on 21 December 1999; £90 million of this has been allocated to health authorities in 1999–2000—to help meet the additional costs of generic drugs. Buckinghamshire Health Authority's share of this additional money was £974,000. The remaining £44 million will be allocated, as required, to meet the cost of clinical negligence claims.

The Q2 (September) 1999–2000 Forecasts were prepared before the additional allocations were announced. As a consequence the forecasts do not take account of the additional allocations.
