Letter from Peter Mathison to Angela Smith, dated 4 April 2000: The Secretary of State for Social Security has asked me to respond to your recent Parliamentary Question asking how many pensioners in (a) the Basildon parliamentary constituency, (b) Basildon and (c) Thurrock are in receipt of the minimum income guarantee. The minimum income guarantee relates to Income Support pensioners aged 60 and over. The figures provided in reply to parts b and c of your question relate to Local Authority areas. The figures provided are shown in the table attached. I hope this is helpful.
