§ Ms Estelle MorrisThe actual numbers of external assessors to be deployed will depend on the number and distribution of teachers who apply to cross the threshold. Numbers are likely to peak in the first two years of the new arrangements when very large numbers of teachers will be eligible for assessment. The maximum requirement in year one will be in the region of 520 full-time equivalents. The recruitment process for external assessors is nearly complete.
