§ Mrs. BeckettThe major Privy Council Office activity that involves the need to ensure equal treatment is the making of appointments to public bodies. The practice of my Department in relation to the representation of women on public bodies was explained in my answer of 25 October 1999,Official Report, column 707. The same practice is adopted in relation to the representation of people from ethnic minorities on such bodies.
