§ Miss Melanie JohnsonThe Guideline of the European Central Bank (ECB) on certain provisions regarding euro banknotes (ECB/1999/3 and 1999/656/EC) is addressed to the national central banks of participating member states. As such, it does not apply to the Bank of England, and the Chancellor of the Exchequer was not involved in the adoption of the Guideline by the ECB Governing Council.
