The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Scotland of Asthal)

The remuneration of the Chair of the British Council is a matter for the Charity Commission and the Board of the British Council as charity trustees. I understand that the current round of discussions is due to be concluded shortly. The British Council have assured me that the details of the agreement regarding the remuneration of the Chair will be made public.
