§ Mr. BoatengThe information is not held centrally and could be provided only at disproportionate cost. However, information on prosecutions for assault is now being collected and will be available in future years.
The Prison Service collects centrally information on the numbers of proven charges of assault at adjudications 832W under the Prison Rules, and the available information is set out in the table. These figures relate to assaults on staff of all grades, not solely prison officers, together with any assaults on others excluding prisoners, such as contractors or visitors.
