To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions, pursuant to his answer of 23 July 1999,Official Report, column 706, for what reason he did not state the most recent date on which (a) he and (b) the Minister for Transport used a train in the course of their duties. As the then Minister for Transport said in her answer, Ministers travel by public transport on a regular basis on official visits and journeys to their offices. My right hon. Friend and my noble Friend last travelled by train on official business on Monday 18 October.
