§ Yvette CooperThere is no guidance to general practitioners dealing exclusively with the advance prescribing of hormonal emergency contraception. This is a matter for clinical judgment. The responsibility for deciding what treatment is best for the patient rests with the doctors concerned, in consultation with the patient and informed by the patient's history.
