HC Deb 19 October 1999 vol 336 c445W
Mr. Rowlands

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the total amount collected by the windfall tax on the public utilities; and how much of this total has been paid out to each of the New Deal initiatives and other projects financed from the tax. [94447]

Mr. Timms

The Windfall Tax raised a revenue of £5.2 billion, all of which has now been collected. The allocation of this money to each initiative is set out in the Financial Statement and Budget Report, March 1999, Table 4.1: The Allocation of the Windfall Tax. These estimates will be updated in the Pre-Budget Report this autumn.
