§ Clare ShortDetails of the Department's progress in tackling the Millennium Bug are set out in our quarterly monitoring returns. These are available in the Libraries of the House and are published on the Internet.
All of the key business critical systems have been tested and put back into service. Work is also complete on non-critical systems, telecommunications systems and embedded chips.
The Millennium Operating Regime has been completed and presented to Ministers. The Business Continuity Plans for all IT business critical systems have been dry-tested. Contingency arrangements on some non-IT aspects of the business covered by the Business Continuity Plans will be tested as appropriate in the next few weeks.
The results of the October monthly review of progress of Departments and agencies in tackling the bug are due to be announced shortly by the President of the Council.
In order to ensure that the projects are effective, they are appraised before approval and monitored during implementation.
