§ Mr. BurnsTo ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement on measures being taken by the Mid-Essex Hospital Trust to be millennium compliant by 31 December. [94565]
§ Ms StuartMid-Essex Hospital Services National Health Service Trust successfully met the 30 September deadline to "ensure that all systems were Year 2000 compliant or that effective contingency plans were in place if full compliance could not be achieved". The NHS Trust was therefore designated as Action 2000 "Blue" as of 30 September, indicating that assessment had not identified any risk of material disruption.
The NHS Executive Eastern Regional Office and the NHS Trust continue to work closely, and the Regional lead on Winter 2000 attends Project and Trust Board meetings.
In the next three months, the NHS Trust will continue to monitor its systems to ensure that they remain millennium compliant and to train staff in contingency arrangements.
