§ Lord Avebury
asked Her Majesty's Government:
Who were the experts commissioned by the United Nations to produce the report called for by the General Assembly in paragraph 18 of Resolution 53/35 of 13 January on the events dating from the establishment of the safe area of Srebrenica on 16 April 1993 until the endorsement of the Peace Agreement by the Security Council under Resolution 1031 (1995). § Baroness Scotland of Asthal
The UN Secretary-General has asked the UN Secretariat to prepare the report on his behalf. As foreshadowed in the reply given by my noble friend the Baroness Symons of Vernham Dean to the noble Lord on 2 March (WA 171), the UN is consulting widely. We have passed on a UN request to British NGOs to provide relevant information in their possession.
