Mr. Robertson

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what percentage of local education authorities spend(a) below, (b) at and (c) above their standard spending assessments. [98367]

In 1999–2000 the budgeted net recurrent expenditure of 35 per cent. of local education authorities in England was below their standard spending assessment while that for 65 per cent. was above it.
