HC Deb 10 November 1999 vol 337 c641W
Ms Lawrence

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what tax measures to improve productivity the Government intend to introduce in the next Finance Bill. [98114]

Mr. Timms

The Chancellor's Pre-Budget Statement yesterday set out the details of the Government's intention to make the capital gains tax (CGT) taper relief for business assets more generous.

The Pre-Budget Statement included a range of tax measures to promote enterprise and productivity, which will be contained in the 2000 Finance Bill.

Inland Revenue Press Releases including details of the following measures: Employee Management Incentives; employee share ownership; corporate venturing; and the research and development tax credit, are being issued today. Copies will be placed in the Libraries of both Houses.
