This Department works closely with the Inland Revenue and the Treasury in taking forward the proposals in Stakeholder Pension Consultation Brief 6, including the proposal to remove the carry forward and carry back facility. The Department has not had separate discussions with software providers on this issue. However, software providers have had the opportunity to respond to the public consultation and we are now considering all the responses.
