HC Deb 04 November 1999 vol 337 cc306-7W
Jackie Ballard

To ask the Secretary of State for Health (1) what recent representations he has received from groups concerned about anaphylaxis and the difficulties faced by sufferers in everyday life; [96437]

(2) what representations he has received from leisure providers concerning the use of their facilities, and participation in activities, by sufferers from anaphylaxis. [96441]

Mr. Hutton

My right hon. Friend the former Minister for Public health met with representatives of the Anaphylaxis Campaign in July 1998 to discuss their concerns about allergy services in the National Health Service and the difficulties faced by sufferers and their families. The Anaphylaxis Campaign has since been involved in further discussions with officials about allergy services. We have received no representations from leisure providers concerning the use of their facilities by sufferers of anaphylaxis.
