§ Mr. HillWe received 85 provisional Local Transport Plans covering 116 English local traffic authorities and 33 interim transport plans from London Boroughs. Authorities were required to include interim non-statutory road traffic reduction reports in their plans. Local authorities have made these plans publicly available.
The reports took a variety of positions on the question of whether, and at what level, to set targets for reducing the level of traffic, or its rate of growth, on local roads. A review of the content of these reports has been carried out as part of the work currently in progress for the Government's first report under the Road Traffic Reduction (National Targets) Act 1998 at the end of this year. The results of that review will be made publicly available in due course.
§ Mr. JenkinTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions if he will list for each local authority the proposals for bypasses and other major road schemes made in their provisional local transport plan. [97071]
