§ Mr. RookerThere have as yet been no bilateral discussions but the issue was raised by Germany at the May meeting of the Agriculture Council. The Commission will submit a proposal before the expiry of the moratorium at the end of the year for discussion by the Agriculture Council. Meanwhile, we have asked the Veterinary Products Committee to report on the latest scientific evidence on human and animal safety in order to inform the Government's position on the future of the moratorium.
