asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether

  1. (a) the scientific paper on the effects of implanting beef cattle with growth hormones, which in the mid 1980s the European Commission did not publish when the ban on implants was imposed, has subsequently been made public; and
  2. (b) they will place the contents of the specific paper in the Library of the House. [HL2477]

(a) The conclusions of the interim report of the Scientific Working Group on Anabolic Agents in Animal Production, chaired by Professor G. E. Lamming, was published as a Special Report in theVeterinary Record of 24 October 1987.
