Mr. Doug Henderson

[holding answer 14 May 1999]: Further to my written answer of 16 April 1999, Official Report, columns 373–74, I should like to clarify the position concerning Mr. John Stevens' role in relation to the investigation into the murder of Mr. Patrick Finucane.

The Royal Ulster Constabulary carried out a criminal investigation of the murder itself and Mr. Stevens investigated the circumstances surrounding the murder, namely the related allegations of collusion.
