§ Ms Estelle MorrisThe average cost of employing a schoolteacher in a Local Education Authority depends on the average salary levels of those teachers currently employed within that Authority.
The estimated average cost of employing a full-time teacher (including heads and deputies) in the maintained nursery, primary, secondary and special sector in Slough and Northumberland in 1998–99:
